Hone your jump shot in your spare moments or perform a backyard dunking drill with this Lifetime portable basketball system. Unlike in-ground basketball hoops--which are typically anchored in concrete--this portable hoop rolls on wheels, letting you position the basket support in your desired location, from the back patio to the middle of the cul-de-sac. All you have to do is fill the 27-gallon base with water or sand and play.



The Lifetime hoop adjusts from 7.5 to 10 feet in 6-inch increments.
Lifetime knows that younger players aren't always ready for a 10-foot hoop, which is why the basket boasts a height-adjustment mechanism. The telescoping mechanism adjusts from 7.5 to 10 feet in 6-inch increments--no tools required--letting players of all ages and skill levels enjoy the game on their own terms. Aspiring dunkers can also gradually raise the basket 6 inches at a time as their vertical improves, although the 18-inch solid steel rim is not a breakaway rim. The black rim is instead extremely stable, with 1/2-inch steel braces, welded steel net hooks, and a 50-gram net.

And players needn't worry about the 44-inch backboard wearing dramatically over time thanks to the UV-protected, high-density polyethylene construction. This sturdy plastic material helps the board resist chipping and cracking while protecting the graphics from fading. About Lifetime
In the beginning, all the founder of Lifetime Products wanted was a sturdier basketball pole for his backyard. With this in mind, he found and purchased a piece of heavy-duty used pipe, a sheet of plywood, and a basketball rim. The resulting backyard basketball standard functioned perfectly in his backyard. Seeing the potential of his hoop, he placed an ad in the local free classified newspaper and made his first sale. The rest--as they say--is history. He created the American PlayWorld Company in 1973, based out of his garage in Riverdale, Utah. After expanding into several other types of playground equipment, he eventually moved to a bigger location in South Ogden, Utah. Several years later, the company transformed the basketball industry by introducing the Quick Adjust basketball pole, the first complete basketball system you could raise and lower with a broomstick. In 1986, American PlayWorld created Lifetime Products, a separate company intended to concentrate specifically on manufacturing adjustable basketball systems. In the ensuing years, the company has grown from having 18 employees in a 32,000-square-foot space in half a warehouse to more than 1,400 employees and 2.6 million square feet over 23 separate buildings.

Good, once you set it up
The middle pole did not fit inside the top pole as it is supposed to. My wife and I are both mechanically inclined, and it is clear to us that the pole was not manufactured to specs. Whoever packed the poles in the box knew they didn't fit properly, because they "made" them fit by reversing the direction of the poles when they packed them. I had to add WD-40 and stand on a tall ladder to pound down on the two poles to make them fit together (not an easy task!). Also, the two plugs to keep the water/sand in the base were made of cheap plastic instead of rubber and broke easily (minor complaint). The only reason I did not give this product just one star is because, once we got it set up, it's good for the price I paid. However, I can't give it more than two stars because many people could not have assembled the actual misfitting parts we received.


LOTS OF GOOD OLD FUN
This was a christmas gift for my grandson, he loves it and wow did we get every one out doors and playing. What a fun & great way to be outside and have fun as a family. Better then sitting in side.


Great for price
The backboard is plastic but it works fine for my young boys and was not expensive. It's a little tricky to put together but I'm sure they all are. Make sure the sand is dry before you try to put it in (or use water) in the stand.


Best for the price
This was the best baseketball hoop I could find for this price range. I bought it merely based on review from others. And it is a fantastic product once you assemble it. When the product arrived, I did not check the hardware. Turns out, I was missing some hardware and I had to call the customer service. They were polite and shipped the entire hardware set again. I am glad I bought it and its very good. Don't throw away the packaging. The cutomer service ask for the numbers in the manual etc. Overall, I would highly recommend this product if you have the time and patience to assemble it and figure out on your own. The manual is not very clear on certain steps. The time I mentioned about includes extra time for shipping the missing parts. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars.

Very nice and functional. Harder to install than indicated in the instructions. Took 4 people 4 hours to assemble. Also delivery info very deceiving, at order time suggested shipping date was a week plus a week for delivery. This was too long for a typical Amazon order. But in actuality it arrived in just a week. Shipping info in general should be more precise.
